Uganda is set to host the 32nd National Agricultural Show alongside the 5th National Agricultural Education Show from June 26, 2026, to July 11, 2026, at the UNFFE Showgrounds, in a bid to promote innovation, farmer education, and agricultural transformation across the country.

The event was announced during a press briefing at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala, where organisers called on farmers, agribusiness stakeholders, students, and the general public to take part in the annual exhibition.

The agricultural show comes at a time when several institutions are strengthening collaboration to enhance wealth creation initiatives and improve agricultural productivity at grassroots level.

Key institutions involved include the Uganda Development Forum, Operation Wealth Creation, Uganda National Farmers Federation, and the Parish Development Model Secretariat, working alongside local governments through the Ministry of Local Government.

Uganda Development Forum Executive Director Edward Katende said the partnership aims to improve coordination in government wealth creation programmes and strengthen delivery at parish level.

“This partnership is more than a formal arrangement. It represents a new way of aligning government wealth creation initiatives to ensure they are better communicated, demonstrated, and implemented at the parish level,” Katende said.

He noted that each institution brings a specific role to avoid duplication and improve efficiency in programme implementation.

Katende added that the coalition is rolling out farmer education programmes through practical training centres and district-based agricultural extension systems.

“We are prioritising hands-on farmer training to ensure that communities not only receive information but also practical skills they can apply directly,” he said.

He further explained that the partnership is promoting live demonstrations through model farms and agro-enterprises supported under the Parish Development Model and Emyooga programmes.

“These demonstration sites allow farmers to interact directly with successful beneficiaries, observe practical solutions, and learn from real-life experiences,” Katende added.

Organisers said the agricultural show will provide a platform for showcasing new technologies, value addition innovations, climate-smart agriculture practices, and agribusiness opportunities, while also facilitating knowledge exchange among farmers, investors, and policymakers.

The annual event remains one of Uganda’s largest agricultural exhibitions and is expected to attract participants nationwide as stakeholders push for increased productivity, food security, and household incomes through modernised agriculture.
